South Bruce OPP are urging people to keep safe from scammers after a Huron-Kinloss resident lost $60,000.
On April 16th, the OPP were called to a home in the township after the victim reported the loss.
The resident had been trying to invest in cryptocurrency through an online agency when they gave the scammer access to their devices, which led to the loss.
The OPP warns everyone to be cautious when engaging in digital currency transactions and investments.
They say that since scammers can use documents that seem legitimate, it’s easy to fool people into giving up banking details and personal information.
