The Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII) is recognizing five students as emerging talent in the nuclear sector.
These student were each awarded the inaugural Frank Saunders Memorial Awards for Nuclear Excellence by Bruce Power and the NII during the Canadian Nuclear Association Conference last week in Ottawa.
The NII says these new awards celebrate the emerging talent in the nuclear sector, as well as encourage the next generations of innovators.
The award recipients include:
-Abdalrahman Alasadi from McMaster University
-Andrea Ionel from McMaster University
-Siddhant Khanna from McMaster University
-Tannis Lubiniecki from Northlands College
-Divleen Ruprai from the University of Waterloo
Each recipient received $1,000 for their submitted essays.
The NII says this will be an annual award to recognize students who demonstrate outstanding potential in nuclear science and leadership.
