The Nuclear Innovation Institute is recognizing a member of Bruce County’s staff for their hard work to advance the clean energy sector.
The NII has given the Paulette Peirol Memorial Award for Excellence in Economic Development to Jeff Loney, who is Bruce County’s Economic Development Manager.
The institute gives the award to professionals who demonstrate commitment to the clean energy sector through initiatives that promote economic growth, innovation, and sustainability.
This marks the NII’s second-annual Clean Energy Frontier Progam Awards. Other awards were given to Bharath Nangia, who received the Emerging Leader in Clean Energy Innovation Award, and Georgian College’s Owen Sound Campus received the Community Clean Energy Champion Award.
Willing To Listen was also recognized as a community-led initiative that fostered informed discussions about the proposed Deep Geological Repository (DGR) for used nuclear fuel.
Loney was also recently recognized for his work with the county with the 2025 Economic Development 40 Under 40 Award, which is given out by the Development Counsellors International (DCI) and Jorgenson Pace Inc.
