Lloyd Hale, a former Mayor of Southampton has died.
Current Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau says in a statement, “Mayor Hale served our community with distinction during his tenure as Southampton Mayor from 1980 to 1982. The Town remains grateful for his many contributions and dedicated service to our community.”
Hale’s obituary from the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home says he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on March 7th in his 92nd year.
His obituary also says, “Lloyd was a man who served his community well. In Southampton, Ontario, he served as mayor and also served as the police commissioner.”

Mayor Charbonneau adds, “As a mark of respect, I have directed that all municipal flags be flown at half-mast on March 13, the day of Mayor Hale’s funeral. On behalf of Council and all residents of Saugeen Shores, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Mayor Hale’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
