The unemployment rate for the region increased in February.
According to the latest numbers from the Four County Labour Market Planning Board, the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region saw unemployment increase to 6 percent.
Meanwhile, the provincial rate remained unchanged at 7.2 percent.
The region saw around 1,700 full-time losses and added 900 part-time positions.
The Planning Board says that overall employment in the service sector increased by 2 percent, and public administration saw an increase of 800 positions.
Gains were also seen in finance, insurance, real estate, and rental and leasing.
Overall losses were seen in accommodation, food services, recreation, and technical services, with the biggest losses in agriculture, manufacturing, and construction, due to seasonality.
