Some proposed housing developments in West Grey are making their way through the approval process.
Most recently they came before Grey County Committee of the Whole.
One is on Saddler Street in Durham, and it would include 26 residential lots including 6 semi-detached units and 20 townhouse units.
A Grey County staff report says the plan also involves a 1-hectare vacant plan of condominium block, which is proposed to contain 30 small town homes and a private condominium road. That section of the development is intended for later on. A vacant plan of condominium block is where people purchase a plot on which to build, rather than a condo in a building, and they have the use of the road and other infrastructure when their small town home in this case is built.
Another development called the Roseate Subdivision, is proposed south of Grey Road 4 on the western border of Durham. It would include up to 146 new residential units, including a maximum 60-unit apartment building. A Grey County staff report says the apartment block would also permit commercial uses on the ground floor.
Next, they’ll come back to Grey County council on a future agenda for approval.
