The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is congratulating a local volunteer for winning the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal.
Muriel Shular will be receiving the award after having volunteered seven years with the museum’s volunteer team, contributing over 700 hours of service.
Bruce County says Shular’s service to the museum spans a wide range of roles, these include assisting with the children’s programs and special events, as well as supporting the administrative and outreach initiatives.
Museum Director Cathy McGirr says they are thrilled to see Shular receive this well-earned recognition.
“Muriel’s unwavering commitment to volunteering, her ability to engage and inspire others, and her passion for supporting our mission make her truly deserving of this honour,” says McGirr.
Shular is one of the 30,000 Canadians to receive the medal commemorating the Coronation of King Charles III on May 6, 2023.
The medal awards individuals for their service, sustainability and diversity to their community.
Shular will formally receive the award at Bruce County council on March 20.
