You may see some soldiers around Owen Sound this coming weekend.
The Canadian Armed Forces says in a release, on February 22nd and 23rd there are exercises planned around the Owen Sound Armoury and the Barrie Armoury.
Personnel from the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) will conduct training in cooperation with primary reserve force personnel.
You may see members of our military training in the area, though a release indicates the majority of the weapons training using blank ammunition will take place in Barrie.
The Department of National Defence says, “CANSOFCOM appreciates the support of community members and partners like The Grey and Simcoe Foresters, which enables CANSOFCOM personnel to conduct realistic training that enhances their capabilities and readiness for real-world operations.”
The Grey and Simcoe Foresters is a reserve unit that is part of the 4th Canadian Division’s 31 Canadian Brigade Group. You can see updates from the 4th Canadian Division on Facebook or the 31 Canadian Brigade Group on Facebook. Or you can follow 31CBG on Instagram .
