Support for those in Huron County with Alzheimer’s disease is getting a boost in provincial funding.
The Ontario government announced $111,600 to the Alzheimer Society of Huron Perth to connect more people to dementia care, support and services.
Funding will support hiring full-time equivalent staff members, shortening wait times for existing patients, and providing support for new clients in the region.
In Ontario, more than 250 thousand people live with dementia, and this number is expected to grow as the population continues to age.
