Canadians are cancelling US travel and vacation plans in light of what’s going on south of the border,
And the U.S. Travel Association warned the threatened U.S. tariffs could diminish tourism and result in lost billions of dollars.
Mary Ann Winterton, owner of Travelworld in Collingwood says she has seen many cancellations, most recently a 21- day cruise – and her clients were clear – the whole cruise had to be cancelled because her clients wanted nothing to do with supporting a US owned cruise line.
She said people are re-booking for other destinations like Cuba, Portugal, and Mexico.
In a written statement the US travel association says Canada is the top source of international visitors to the United States, generating $20.5 billion in spending and supporting 140,000 American jobs.
