Dufferin OPP say a Southampton man is facing drug and weapon charges after responding to a vehicle in the ditch.
Police say on Feb. 1 around 3:40 a.m., officers received a report of a vehicle in a ditch near County Road 17 in the Township of Melancthon.
When police arrived on the scene, OPP say officers spoke with the driver and an investigation revealed the driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license.
Further investigation revealed a silver revolver handgun (replica-BB gun) on the driver’s seat, a long gun (replica-BB gun), flick style knives, and a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
As a result, police say the 37-year-old accused has been charged with two counts of assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of cocaine, and possession of methamphetamine.
