As of this week, residents and businesses in Bruce County can submit requests for transportation permits electronically.
Requests for permits for over-dimensional loads can be submitted using Permit Central.
An over-dimensional load permit is required when vehicles exceed dimensions or weight limits according to the Highway Traffic Act.
Permit Central is a new digital road permit system that streamlines the permitting process and reduces time and cost for those applying, and for the county’s Transportation & Environmental Services Department.
The service is also integrated with Municipal 511, which allows applicants to see road closures, construction, truck routes, and cautions as they map their route.
Each permit has specific conditions that must be followed. Users of Permit Central can quickly access their applications and all associated document uploads, communication logs, change logs, and more.
