You may have noticed a lot of scarecrows around Saugeen Shores, and they’re doing more than just hanging around.
They are collecting donations for the local food banks and if you want to donate, there’s a box in front of each one.
They’re called ‘sharecrows’ and they’ll be up until Halloween and then there’s a food drive November 1st at the boathouse in Southampton.
The drive is organized by the local group the Chantry Island Chambettes.
There is a map you can download that shows you where they’re posted throughout Saugeen Shores.
There are 80 of them.
You can find the map and more information here: https://chantry-island-cham-bettes.sharecrows.org/
