There’s a household hazardous waste collection event in Owen Sound this weekend.
The public works facility at 1900 20th Street East will be open between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, when people can drop off old paints, motor oil and other hazardous waste materials.
The program is open to residents of Owen Sound, Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs, Grey Highlands and Meaford.
A city official says a valid identification is required to verify your home address. And a household hazardous waste form also has to be completed to use the service.
Hazardous waste from commercial, industrial or farm operations is not accepted.
