The Owen Sound Agricultural Society is gearing up for the annual fall fair.
President Kevin Reid says the event on Sept. 6 and 7 at Victoria Park will feature all things agriculture and activities for children.
He says the festivities will kick off on the Friday with the Beef Show, a craft show at the Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre, and a truck and tractor pull.
Saturday will start with the Horse Show, and will feature the Poultry Show, as well as the touch a truck, a dog show, kids events, and the popular demo derby that night to cap the event.
“We really pushed Saturday as a kid-friendly day with a lot of stuff going on and without the midway this year again, we are trying to cater to the kids,” says Reid.
He adds the fair will also act as a fundraiser for the Victoria Park Grandstand, which suffered fire damage earlier this year.
“We are fixing the grandstands, we are hoping to have it fixed by the fair, but it just hasn’t happened yet, but it will be ready for next year,” says Reid.
