Grey Highlands is appointing a new Director of Community and Economic Development.
The municipality says Paul McGrath is set to take over the position on Sept. 16 and comes to the role with a decade of experience and a track record of fostering community growth.
As director, McGrath will be focusing on enhancing the economic landscape and community life for the municipality. This will include directing strategic initiatives in areas of parks and recreation, building services, and economic development, as well as cultivate business and investment opportunities and strengthening community relations.
Before joining the municipality, he previously served as the Manager of Community and Business Development for the City of Owen Sound.
During his time with the city, he spearheaded several initiatives directly impacting economic and community vitality, including the development of business engagement programs and the implementation of strategies to enhance the livability and economic situation in the community.
CAO Karen Govan says they are delighted to welcome McGrath to the team.
“His experience and successful track record in economic development are exactly what Grey Highlands needs. We are confident that Paul’s innovative approach and leadership will result in significant advancements for our community,” says Govan.
McGrath also voiced his enthusiasm about the new role.
“I am excited to join Grey Highlands and contribute to its continued growth and success. I look forward to working with the community and local businesses to shape a prosperous future for Grey Highlands,” says McGrath.
