The Municipality of Kincardine is celebrating the recognition it received for its marina.
Kincardine Municipal Marina received a Diamond Rating from the Clean Marine Eco-Rating Program, which was developed by Boating Ontario.
Achieving Clean Marine Status emphasizes a marina’s commitment to minimizing environmental impact through high operational standards.
The marina was able to reach the goal through its state-of-the-art environmental protection, and early warning systems on the new above-ground fuel storage tanks and dispensers.
The accomplishment came after years of work to improve fire and boater safety, washroom cleanliness, a recycling program, and customer experience enhancements.
The Diamond Status is a big improvement from Silver Status that the marina had reached five years ago. Next year, the municipality is hoping for Diamond Elite.
