Bruce Power is making a big donation to support Gran Fondo Lake Huron.
The power company and its supplier partners have announced a $125,000 contribution to the event, which supports health care and hospital needs for new mammography equipment in the Brightshores Health System.
The donation is set to go toward the purchase of three-dimensional imaging equipment, which will help radiologists in dense breast tissue, which can lead to earlier diagnoses for cancer.
Previously, donations from Bruce Power have gone toward the purchase of other pieces of medical equipment, including defibrillators, and a CT scanner.
