The City of Owen Sound will be completing hydrant flushing between now and September.
The Public Works team will be doing the annual hydrant flushing in order to ensure that the municipal water system is working correctly, as well as improve water quality.
They’ll be starting closest to the Water Treatment Plant, then gradually work their way towards the outer limits of the city.
If crews are working around your home, you may find that water pressure is lower than usual, but will return to normal once the work is complete.
After crews leave, if the water from household taps looks cloudy or rusty, you only have to run cold water for anywhere from 5-30 minutes until it runs clear.
In the event that doesn’t resolve the issue, contact the City Water Department at 519-376-4274.
