The Meaford Public Library is looking for volunteers for the new GrandPals program.
The program, in partnership with the municipality, is looking for adults over the age of 55 to connect with the youth in the community through storytelling.
“Through eight engaging sessions, GrandPals and youth will explore various aspects of life, learning, and shared experiences, fostering meaningful intergenerational relationships,” says the municipality. “GrandPals bring invaluable wisdom, experiences, and stories that can inspire and enrich the lives of students.”
The program is geared towards children between the ages of nine and 11.
Those interested in volunteering can find more information on the Meaford website here, with information packages available at the Meaford Public Library or at the municipal office.
The deadline to apply is Aug. 30.
