Bruce Power says that the Major Component Replacement for their Unite 3 reactor is progressing ahead of schedule.
The company says that the reactor removal has been completed, and it was done faster than the Unit 6 replacement.
Bruce Power credits the know-how of their tradespeople and contractors, and the skills they learned while completing the replacement of Unit 6.
The Unit 3 MCR is the second of six refurbishment projects that will be happening at the Bruce Power site, in order to extend the site’s operational life to the year 2064.
Bruce Power is also in the final stages of preparation for the Unit 4 MCR outage, scheduled to begin in 2025, while Units 5, 7, and 8 are also slated for refurbishment over the next 10 years.
