One person faces a list of charges in connection to what Grey Bruce OPP call, “a rash of property crime in Meaford.”
They say on July 25th, at about 3:30 p.m., Grey Bruce OPP and their Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Marshall Street in the Municipality of Meaford.
They say during the search officers discovered two firearms, a 22-calibre rifle, a pellet gun, stolen kitchen appliances and three bicycles. Total estimated value of seized items is approximately $22,000.
OPP have charged a 43-year-old Meaford man with:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (two counts)
Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (five counts)
Trafficking in Stolen Goods Under $5000
Breach of Firearms Regulation – Store Firearm or Ammunition
Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
Posses Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (two counts)
Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number has been Tampered with
Possession of Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
Possession of Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
OPP say their investigation is continuing, and further charges are pending.
