South Bruce OPP have arrested a person after a heavy police presence in Culross Township, not far from Teeswater.
Police were set up on Concession 4 around sideroad 5 and Bruce Road 12 after receiving a report this morning about an individual with a vehicle that Grey Bruce OPP had reported stolen.
Officers arrived on scene and located the stolen vehicle. They say the individual was wanted by police and ran off.
OPP were asking people to stay away from the area and advising them they should expect a heavy police presence.
They called in the West Region Emergency Response Team, OPP Aviation, West Region K-9, and front-line officers.
They located the suspect in the area and arrested them.
A 32-year-old from Kincardine was charged with:
Theft over $5000
Possession of stolen property over $5000
Flight from police
2 counts of Drive while Prohibited
Mischief
Trespassing
The accused is held in custody and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton to answer to the charges.
