The 2024 Ontario Series Lacrosse awards have been handed out, and a couple of members of the Owen Sound Senior B North Stars were recognized.
Riley Thompson earned the nod as the league’s most sportsmanlike player, and Mike MacLeod was the recipient of the Harold James Award for dedication.
The league’s most valuable player award went to Deacon Knott of the Brooklin Merchants. The goaltender was 9-1 in 11 games for Brooklin during the 2024 season, posting a 6.85 goals against average.
The Senior B North Stars will resume their first-round playoff series against Six Nations Friday.
It’s a must win game to extend their season, as the Rivermen hold a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five.
A win on the road by the North Stars Friday, and Game 4 in the series would be held at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre Saturday.
