Collingwood General and Marine Hospital is starting construction this week to upgrade diagnostic imaging services.
While that will result in the installation of a new, state-of-the art- X-ray machine in September, it will mean some short term disruption.
Starting July 22, work will begin on one of the X-ray rooms, which means CGMH will operate with a single X-ray machine.
The hospital says every measure will be taken to minimize impact on patients.
The emergency department will see and treat patients, which will continue to be the top priority and will be seen based on medical urgency. While walk-ins will still be accommodated, the hospital strongly encourages outpatients to use a new online booking system for a more streamlined experience.
