Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff is accepting nominations for the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
Nominations for the medal opened on Friday and are given to someone who has made a significant contribution to the country, or to a particular province, territory, region, or community in Canada, or has performed an outstanding achievement abroad which credits the country.
Additionally, while the medal can be awarded posthumously, the recipient must have been alive on the day of coronation on May 6, 2023.
The 30,000 medals manufactured by the Royal Canadian Mint were approved by the King and features an image of King Charles III wearing his coronation robes.
This is the first medal to mark King Charles III since his coronation.
“I look forward to recognizing 20 very deserving constituents who have made a difference in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound with the special Coronation Medal,” says Ruff.
Residents in the region can be nominated by completing the form online here, or by mailing or dropping it off at Ruff’s office.
Submissions will be accepted until Sept. 2.
