Lion’s Head native Rob Hellyer scored twice and had four points to help the Lakers to a 12-5 over the Owen Sound North Stars in Game 1 of their first-round Major Series Lacrosse playoff series Thursday evening at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
The Lakers broke the game open with seven goals in the second period.
Game 2 in the best-of-five goes Saturday evening at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound. It’s scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m.
