The Owen Sound Krueger Steel U19 Northstars Girls had a hot day of lacrosse in Oakville for their last 2 games of the regular season and came out on top of both contests to finish the season with a record of 6-4.
Game 1 saw us in tough against the Newmarket Redbirds where the Northstars held off a late push to grab a 13-8 win. Willow Smith-Spinney & Aliviah McCall both led the way with 3 goals each, followed by Ryann Seaman and Mya Good with 2 goals each and Katie Marshall, Ella McCoubrey and Charlotte Fox with 1 goal each. Assists came from Michelle Kocher with 2 and Ryann Seaman with 1.
We started off a bit slow in Game 2 against the Orillia Lady Kings 2 squad but tightened things up in the 2nd quarter and came away with a 10-4 win. Ryan Seaman scored 3 goals including a highlight reel behind the back snipe, and the rest of our goals were spread out between Hennesey Koeslag, Lauren Neil, Hannah Davies, Willow Smith-Spinney, Mya Good, Paityn McKenzie and Ella McCoubrey all with 1 goal each. Assists came from Ryan Seaman with 2, and Mya Good and Ella McCoubrey with 1 each.
