The Township of Huron-Kinloss is looking to hear from the community as it develops a Parks and Trails Plan.
In partnership with pl.ural, the plan aims to enhance the quality and accessibility of the 18 parks and eight trails in the municipality.
Additionally, the plan will also help guide long-term use, the potential rearrangement of existing amenities, the development of new park infrastructure, and capital planning of the parks and trails in the area. This will include looking into pickleball courts, dog parks, and expanding the trails.
The plan will also analyze the current state of the parks and trails, which are maintained by the township, as well as who uses them, and what those users would like to see.
Once the plan is developed, it will feature action items from a list of recommendations, as well as timelines, and costs to be implemented over a 10 year span.
Director of Community Services Mike Fair says they are eager to hear from residents.
“Our parks and trails are integral to the quality of life in Huron-Kinloss. We need the community’s input to ensure these spaces meet everyone’s needs and expectations. Your feedback will be essential in shaping the future of our parks and trails,” says Fair.
The online survey is opening July 15 and the municipality will hold events for residents to share their thoughts and ideas in person. More details can be found here.
“Community participation is essential for the success of this project. All residents are encouraged to share their input in the coming months and play a vital role in shaping the future of Huron-Kinloss parks and trails,” says the township.
