No charges will be laid in relation to a residential fire in Owen Sound, where a 58 year old man also died as a result of a fall.
City Police Chief Craig Ambrose says in an interview they believe the June 30th fire in the 1300 block of 3rd Avenue East was deliberately set.
It was contained to the 58 year old man’s third floor apartment where the fire initiated. Chief Ambrose says police aren’t looking for any suspects.
The man was found dead outside the building.
The man’s death and the fire were under investigation by the Office of the Coroner, The Ontario Fire Marshall and the Criminal Investigations Branch of the Owen Sound Police.
Police say his injuries were consistent with a fall.
They say they will not be releasing the man’s identity to respect the privacy of his family.
