Three people have been arrested and charged after a few municipal vehicles stolen in Grey Highlands were tracked down with the help of GPS.
Grey Bruce OPP say they received a report Sunday morning about a municipal property in Grey Highlands that was broken into, and three vehicles stolen.
“It was determined that the suspects gained access to the building through the main doors and gained access to keys to the vehicle,” the OPP say in a release.
But police say the vehicles had GPS tracking systems on them and that helped lead officers to a property on Story Book Park Road in Meaford, where two of the vehicles were recovered.
The OPP say a 35-year-old South Bruce man and a 50-year-old Georgian Bluffs man were arrested at the scene, and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and other offences.
The third stolen vehicle was tracked to Amaranth. Dufferin OPP tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver took off. Police officers managed to locate the vehicle shortly after in Hillsburgh.
A 39-year-old Grey Highlands woman was arrested and charged with flight from peace officer, as well as offences related to the vehicle theft.
The OPP say two suspects related to the investigation remain at large.
