The Owen Sound John Shute Optometry U9 girls played two games at the Ontario Women?s Field Lacrosse Garden City Summer Opener in St. Catherines Sunday.
It was a rough start for the girls who faced the Oakville LadyHawks in the rain, losing 14-9 but Northstars goal scorers were just warming up with FAYE BURNETT-SCOTT (3), ANIYA SUTCH (2), and a goal each for DANIELLE ADAIR, LOGAN QUAID, GRACE BOYD, and PIPER COBURN.
The team then faced the Burlington Blaze who went down in a Blaze of glory, losing 15-8 to the Northstars. ?PIPER COBURN lit the fire and scored (5), GRACE BOYD continued the inferno (3), ISABELLE BAREFOOT and FRANKIE LAVALLEY added to the flames with (2) each, and then DANIELLE ADAIR, EMILY GLADWELL, and ROWAN ELMORE each scored an additional goal.? It was a great day for the John Shute Optometry U9 girls who have lots of time fan the flames during practices until their next tournament in Kitchener Waterloo July 21st.
