The Owen Sound Krueger Steel U19 Northstars Girls had to battle the heat and some strong competition in St. Catharines this weekend, coming out on the losing end of two games to even their record on the season at 4-4.
Game 1 ended 16-3 in favour of the Orillia Lady Kings 1 squad, with our goals coming from Katie Marshall, Hannah Davies and Aliviah McCall. Assists came from Aliviah McCall and Paityn McKenzie.
The girls were in tough again against the Burlington Blaze in Game 2 and came out on the wrong end of a 15-5 final score. Our goals came from Aliviah McCall and Ryann Seaman with 2 each and Leah Sundermeier with 1, and assists came from Ella McCoubrey, Hennessy Koeslag and Lauren Neil with 1 each.
Even through the stifling heat which reached into the high 30’s with humidity all the girls played incredibly hard, they just came up against two very tough opponents.
The girls now take a long break and return to action on July 13th in Oakville for the final weekend of the regular season.
