Bruce County council has authorized staff to enter into a memorandum of understanding with Grey County and the Municipality of South Bruce Peninsula for the Sauble Beach extension of Grey Transit Route 5.
The agreement is to cover service until September.
Council also approved an MOU for the transit route between Owen Sound and Wiarton that’s going to last until the end of 2024.
The agreement ensures service is financially covered 50/50 between the two Counties.
Back in February, Grey County Council had approved a report that would have seen Grey Transit Route 5 end in September.
The following month, Bruce County council approved a resolution to reallocate $26,500 from the Business Sustainability Loan, left unspent on the Transit Demand & Feasibility Study, to fund 50% of the route from Wiarton to Owen Sound for the remainder of the year.
