West Grey has hired a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
Michele Harris will take on the top town staff position effective July 8th.
A release from the municipality says Harris has an extensive background in economic development and strategic management.
Most recently, Harris was Director of Building, Economic and Community Development for the Municipality of Grey Highlands.
The municipality says Harris has also served on the boards of several provincial and municipal tourism and economic development organizations, has been an instructor and served on the Academic Advisory Committee at Humber College, and is a seasoned speaker on tourism, innovation, and regional economic development.
She says in a statement, “I am excited for the opportunity to serve the residents of West Grey, and support the great work being done by council and staff at the municipality to deliver on the priorities outlined in West Grey’s 2024-2026 Strategic Plan.”
The municipality also says it “Extends its heartfelt gratitude to Interim CAO Kerri Mighton for her exemplary service during the transition period. Ms. Mighton’s leadership, strong organizational commitment and efforts have been instrumental in maintaining the smooth operation of the municipality during the CAO recruitment phase.”
