The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating an incident yesterday that involved the death of a 28-year-old woman.
The SIU says that on Thursday, May 16th, Barrie Police Services arrested the woman on outstanding warrants, and she was then taken to the police station and placed in a holding cell.
The Friday night, the OPP were called to Central North Correction Centre, where the woman was found unresponsive. She died yesterday morning in hospital.
There is a post-mortem examination scheduled for tomorrow.
