The Southshore Community Centre in Barrie is getting a new name.
The waterfront building will be called the General John Hayter Southshore Community Centre.
It honours retired Brigadier-General John Hayter who served with the Canadian Forces for more than five decades and has been a dedicated volunteer with various community groups.
