Burnouts, doughnuts and impaired driving charges for a 30-year-old man in Owen Sound.
City Police say they were called to Kelso Beach at Nawash Park just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, after receiving reports of a pick-up truck driving erratically in the parking lot.
Police say the truck was doing doughnuts and burnouts in the parking lot, while several residents were at the park.
“Police arrived shortly after being dispatched and located the involved motor vehicle,” Owen Sound Police say in a release. “The investigation determined that the 30-year-old male, who was identified as driving the motor vehicle by several witnesses, was found to be impaired by alcohol.”
The man was arrested and transported to the Owen Sound Police building to provide breath samples. He allegedly had blood alcohol levels “well over the legal limit,” police say.
The 30-year-old Owen Sound man was charged with impaired operation and dangerous operation. He also had his truck impounded for seven days, and driver’s licence suspended for 90 days.
