The Bruce County Public Library is helping local organizations seek out funding by hosting grant writing workshops next month.
The workshops for non-profit organizations will be held on June 5 at the Port Elgin branch from 10 a.m. to noon and the Wiarton branch from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
They will be led by author, grant writer and educator Lindsay Zier-Vogel, who has raised over $4 million for clients in 2023 alone.
The workshops will guide the participating organizations through every aspect of the grant writing process. It will include identifying suitable grants, preparing materials, and crafting budgets, as well as provide insight and practical skills to enhance their grant applications.
Additionally, the computers at the library branches have free access to Imagine Canada’s Grant Connect database, which acts as a fundraising platform.
Library Director Brooke McLean says, “we are thrilled to offer this invaluable resource to our community. Grant writing, especially for smaller organizations with limited resources, can be an overwhelming task. By providing access to expert guidance and tools like Grant Connect, we aim to support and empower local initiatives and foster growth in our communities.”
Registration is required for the workshops. The Port Elgin branch can be emailed at pelib@brucecounty.on.ca and the Wiarton branch can be emailed at wilib@brucecounty.on.ca.
