Gravenhurst’s Muskoka Discovery Centre has won a prestigious award.
It’s via the Canadian Museums Association for the centre’s acclaimed Misko-Aki: Confluence of Cultures exhibit, which showcases the Indigenous presence in Muskoka.
Mayor Heidi Lorenz says the exhibit is moving, informative and engaging.
“On behalf of council and staff, I congratulate the Muskoka Discovery Centre on receiving an Outstanding Achievement in Exhibitions award from the Canadian Museums Association,” she said in a release. “I visited the exhibit last July with council and senior staff and was truly impressed. The exhibit does a wonderful job at telling the story of our rich Indigenous history. The exhibit is moving, informative, and engaging. I want to thank Muskoka Discovery Centre representatives for all the good work they do promoting and celebrating Muskoka. The centre is certainly a valued part of Gravenhurst.
Again, congratulations on receiving such a prestigious award and please accept my best wishes.”
