Owen Sound police say an 18-year-old resident is facing mischief charges after the Gichi-name-wiikwedong Bridge was vandalized.
Police say on May 4 around 2 a.m., officers responded to a person spray painting graffiti in the area of the inner harbour in downtown Owen Sound.
Officers quickly responded to the scene and say they found a man spray painting an electrical box along the west harbour wall.
Police say the man tried to flee but was caught and arrested. He was found with items used to paint graffiti.
An investigation revealed several locations were tagged including prominent painting on the pillars of the Gichi-name-wiikwedong Bridge and the dedication plaque, as well as other buildings, signs and a bus shelter in the area.
As a result, the man is set to appear in court later this month.
