The Almaguin Highlands OPP have laid multiple charges after an assault investigation.
On April 21st police responded to a report of an assault. The victim reported being assaulted and held against their will prior to reporting the incident to police.
As a result of the investigation a 35-year-old from Burk’s Falls was arrested and charged with:
- Forcible Confinement
- Assault
- Assault with a Weapon
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm – 2 counts
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – 2 counts
The accused was held for bail and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 26, 2024.
