Camp Director Scotia Hutton says, “It will help us provide more meals which means we can have more kids at camp, so higher quality food and then just able to produce it on a higher level.”
It’s an overnight camp for kids aged six to 15 and offers land and water activities including kayaking, canoeing, water trampoline, arts and crafts, archery and outdoor living skills among other things.
“We’re really focused on creating a safe and inclusive space for kids to kind of figure out who they are, what they want to be make some friends and have some fun,” says Hutton.
She says this year they’re aiming to have about 350 to 400 kids. The kitchen is expected to be finished in time for the summer.
