There’s going to be some public transit disruptions in Owen Sound due to the Alpha Street construction project.
City officials say the some bus routes and stops will be changing as of next Monday, April 22, when work begins on the $5.25-million reconstruction of Alpha Street between 6th and 9th Avenues West.
“In response to the closure, the Brooke route will be diverted onto 13th Street A West then onto 3rd Avenue West before heading to the Transit Terminal, while the Crosstown route will be redirected onto 10th Street West, servicing stops along the route from 8th Avenue West to 6th Avenue West,” a city release explains
The following bus stops will be temporarily closed:
•Brooke Route bus stops along Alpha Street, between 6th Avenue West and Grey Road 17B (Nicol’s Gully Road)
•Brooke Route bus stop at 10th Street and 8th Avenue West
•Brooke Route bus stop at 10th Street and 3rd Avenue West
Three new temporary bus stops have been created:
•North-West side of 10th Street at 3rd Avenue West
•Alpha Street and 13th Street A West
•South-East corner of 8th Avenue West and 10th Street West
