West Grey is transferring some land to Grey County for the redevelopment of Rockwood Terrace.
Council approved the transfer of a piece of Rock Street in Durham to the county to help get the project moving during a meeting on April 16.
This comes after council approved on Sept. 5 the mayor enter into an agreement with the county for the transfer.
As part of the transfer, West Grey will stop up and close part of Rock Street.
Grey County initially requested West Grey for the piece of land in 2022 to move the new 128-bed Rockwood Terrace Long-Term Care Home development project along.
The current Rockwood Terrace is reaching the end of its operating license and must be redeveloped to meet current ministry requirements.
This is the latest in the project after the county recently issued the construction contract for the new home.
Construction of the home is expected to last two years with doors expected to open in 2026.
