Grey Bruce OPP say a family pet has died after being shot with a pellet gun in South Bruce Peninsula.
They say last Monday, (Apr 1) the cat’s owner noticed it was not acting normal and there was a hole in the cat’s leg.
They brought it to the vet who determined it had been shot with a pellet.
OPP say the cat died from its injuries.
Police say they want to remind pet owners that most municipalities in Grey Bruce have bylaws for animals being at large.
OPP say, “Pet owners are asked to educate themselves on their local bylaws. If you notice a nuisance animal on your property, please contact your local bylaw officer. There is no reason for anyone to shoot a pet animal with a pellet gun.”
If anyone has any information, they are being asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
