Orillia OPP says that their proactive efforts led to the arrest of two people on impaired driving charges.
Just before 8 p.m. Thursday, an officer was patrolling the area of West Street South in Orillia, and pulled over a vehicle because of a violation of the Highway Traffic Act, and while conducting the stop had found that the driver appeared to be impaired by alcohol.
A 45-year-old Orillia man is now facing charges. He’s expected in court later this month.
A few hours later, just before 11:30, officers were holding a RIDE check around Highway 12 and Highway 11, and found another driver, a 33-year-old woman, refusing to give a breath sample. She’s got a court date in May.
