An Owen Sound man has won some big money playing the lottery.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) says Bill Croft of Owen Sound won a maxmillions prize worth $500,000 in the January 16th Lotto Max draw.
Croft, who works as a custodian, says he regularly plays Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49, explaining, “I usually play my own numbers, but this prize was won on a Quick Pick,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his windfall, adding, “This is my first big win!”
Croft says this is a wonderful chance to bolster his retirement fund and plans to put some of this win aside to treat himself and his wife.
“I feel good. I’m very happy and thankful for this win. I never thought I’d win something like this,” says Croft.
The winning ticket was purchased at Clark’s of Silcote on 3rd Avenue in Owen Sound.
