Owen Sound police have laid charges in connection to a break and enter at a local cannabis store.
Police say at about 2:30 this morning (March 26) a man used a rock to smash through the front bay window of the unnamed store.
They say he entered the store and stole some property including iPads. They allege he climbed back through the broken window and fled the area.
City police say with the assistance of video surveillance footage from the business, they were able to identify the suspect based on several recent arrests of the same individual for previous property crimes.
They say just after 8:30 a.m. a patrolling officer located and arrested the suspect in the area of 16th Street and 16th Avenue East.
According to police, he provided them with a fictitious identity, but was searched and found in possession of two stolen iPads from the Cannabis store.
The 29-year-old man of no fixed address, was charged with break, enter and commit theft, possession of property obtained by crime and obstructing a peace officer.
