The Owen Sound Attack are in Guelph Thursday evening for the first game of home-and-home against the Storm to end the regular season.
The Attack (29-29-5-3) travel south on Highway 6 needing to return with at least one point to keep any chance of finishing higher than seventh in the Ontario Hockey League’s western conference alive.
But, in all likelihood, the Attack will need all four points from their home-and-home with Guelph to move up.
Owen Sound starts the day three points back of Guelph (31-27-6-1) and the Erie Otters (31-28-5-2). And the Attack are one point ahead of the eighth-place Flint Firebirds (30-31-4-1).
Guelph’s had the upperhand in the season series between the two Midwest Division teams so far, winning four of six.
